Meet English Major Heather McCauley ’21
Hometown: Chandler, Arizona
Majors: English and French
Highlights of your time at Wake: Every second of it, from spontaneous road trips to Florida to working at the student-run coffee shop on campus to becoming ESA president to carrying around three Norton anthologies at once because I thought it would be a good idea to not only take three English classes at the same time, but also to take them all back to back!
Post-grad plans: After I graduate in the spring, I am hoping to work in book publishing!
Why you majored in English: I wanted to study something that I was passionate about, and my love for books/literature was prominent even from a young age. When I got in trouble, my parents would take away my books from me, if that’s any indication of how much I enjoyed reading. Because of my own interest in literature, I want to go into publishing to not only help authors get their work out there, but to share these works with the public in hopes of inspiring them as much as they have inspired me.
