English Student Association (ESA)

The English Student Association (ESA) is an active and inclusive group for all English majors and minors. There are no dues, and every English major and minor is automatically a member.

Regular Activities:

  • Annual Department Honors Banquet
  • Representation at Major/Minor Fairs and Receptions
  • Faculty/Student Socials
  • “The Hot Seat” – Student-geared research presentations with various professors
  • Film Screenings
  • Reading/Exam Period Study Breaks
  • Graduate Options Panels
  • “Careers Day” and “Grad School Application Workshop”

Events:

ESA hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including parties, philanthropic events, lectures, films, and readings. They also bring scholars and creative writers to campus.

Sigma Omega Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta at Wake Forest University

Wake Forest’s English department also has an active chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. English majors who meet induction requirements will be invited to become members of the chapter. Contact Susan Harlan and Randi Saloman, the Faculty Sponsors of our chapter, with any questions.
